If you're having an uncomfortable nights sleep then your pillows could be causing you to sleep badly and wake up tired and achey. Buying new pillows can make a massive difference to your sleep and if you sleep well you'll feel better.
You might find you need different pillows from your partner.
Most pillows can be washed - see their label for details. Only wash one at a time though as they absorb a lot of water. Natural filled pillows take longer to dry than synthetic fillings. Washing at 60'C can kill dustmites.
Shake and plump pillows every day as this helps them retain their natural shape. They take more wear than duvets and so should be replaced more often.

Dressing your bed with an attrative arrangement of pillows can create a fantastic look - start with bigger pillows and layer on smaller ones ending in small round cushions in contrasting fabrics to make a pleasing layered effect.
There are several main types of pillow.
Boudoir pillows which are 30 x 40cm
Square pillows which are 66 x 66cm - nice if you like to sit up in bed
Kingsize pillows - 50 x 90cm - kingsize as two will fill the width of a king size bed.
V shaped Companion pillows - these are nice for reading in bed with. They offer plenty of support whilst you sit up and read.

Pillow fillings
Can have artificial or natural fillins
Natural - down and feather from duck and goose. The more feathers the firmer it'll be, down makes it soft.
Synthetic fillings - good if you're allergic to feathers - different types with different softnesses.
Foam pillows made from latex foam - very firm support, keep their shape and do not collect dust so good if you have asthma.
Tempura is a non-allergenic, visco-elastic temperature sensitive material that has unique pressure relieving qualities, allowing your head and neck to rest in a natural, tension-free position.
Special pillows are also available for pregnant women to help them get comfortable in bed.
Special neck support pillows are available.

Which level of softness?
lie on back? medium firm
sleep on side? firm pillow to offer more support
stomach sleepers? Try a soft pillow

Buy some new pillows - it'll help you sleep better especially if you buy foam pillows which keep their shape and support your head better. By keeping your head and neck in the right position whilst you sleep they'll support you and you'll get a better night sleep with fewer aches and pains.

A new pillow can make the difference to a good night's sleep. Pick a suitable filling for your pillow. Obviously if you are allergic to feathers do not buy a feather pillow. Feather pillows should be regularly shaken.
