The first step to creating a beautiful bed is to pick the right bedding and use a mix of fabric styles and colours and textures. Smooth satins look lovely against contrasting smooth sheets or throws. if you have matching pillow cases then don't have these as the bottom or top pillows - use a plain one perhaps on the bottom, then the matching one and then another plain but maybe coloured one on top. This contrast adds to the appeal of the bed and additional small roll pillows can also be placed on the bed.
A folded throw can be used to add colour and contrast. Sometimes a
second throw in a different but similar toned colour can look very attractive.
Sometimes old style fabrics and eiderdowns can be used to make a bed
very stylish. beautiful quilts and comforters are available in designs
and colours not always available in modern colours.
Often in showrooms they'll use special padding to ensure the bed looks
extra comfortable and styled.
A bed is supposed to support your body as you sleep. If your mattress does not support you or supports you unevenly your muscles will not eb able to relax properly and you will wake tired and uncomfortable.
A pocket sprung mattress has the springs in separate "pockets" wihtin the mattress which enables them to act independently of each other. An ordinary sprung mattress has the springs all fixed together and so there is more give which can cause problems if your partner is a different weight to you, you may roll together.
